anyone worked across all 3 types of organisations before? what's your comparison?

Work in private, easier to by pass some unnecessary red tapes. Chop chop do very fast. Efficient. If anyone really bad attitude, will get axe by boss.

Govt side very slow, too many processes, in a way it's 'safer', sacrifice efficiency. Oh ya. Govt sector managers has no powers to sack people. Their kpi is retaining people. Some staff tap on this and become lazy and horrible attitude, knowing managers can't sack them. Puts hardworking workers on more strain.

SME -> start-up -> SME -> MNC -> MNC

all have their own fair share of nonsense

the last 2 MNC both subpar

some MNC here behave like SME. seems like the HQ treat the branch here as forgotten child so the management here run the branch like SME.

kena 1 MNC got no boundaries, expect employees to answer calls on personal phone after working hours and work on the requests. with no OT pay and no time off. this is SME style

i worked in all 3 before... the mnc one shorter stint... and is considered a subsidiary

honestly depends on your definition of MNC. if your singapore office is say, part of a larger group but your group maybe 50 people or less, do u consider it as MNC?

very hard to define i feel

actually i will just say i worked for Allianz before, but one of its subsidiaries

the perks ah? worse than shit. total ultra crap shit

management was bad, small office, lots of politics and infighting. perks is got birthday cake then everyone sing song for u and u eat 1 small slice, smlj?

then also worked for a small china mnc that daobi... and also another mnc before i think


SME, literally no perks or nothing much. if u close to boss then ok. some are less strict like working hours and also depends on the boss, but that is a bit role based also.

perks literally not much.... but if u work for a promising start up then will have more perks

govt wise, u will meet a lot of slack people who hit the grade and wont do more liao and u can have people who are very responsible also

got many is like those LTC u see in camp or those old master warrant officer or whatever....... they already hit that grade liao, wont promote to SWO or higher

they will just slack all the way collecting their high pay

MNC harder to slack like govt. because they can anytime cut you, even say u are 50s or close to 60 or even 40s. u think aiya now i LTC or say 1WO or senior mgr liao wont go up so i continue slack do minimal

ya they will kan u but u still get to collect till u retire, at most wont engage u past 50, 55 or 60

govt u will find many of these.

but i met fair share of those hardworking 50-60 hit the grade wont go up but still responsible

performance bonus is also shit usually. AWS they say got, but split to older staff /12

ok that time they got nespresso say until like big fuck.

then birthday i think mth they make every staff gather in the office....... sing the song to those bday in that mth or sth

then u get a small slice of the cake

i think they rebranded to totally under Allianz... heard they moved office maybe now perks better

previously it's probably the worst place i worked for in place of politics and "benefits"

i never work garment jod before, but always hear people say very slack. but even as an outsider looking in, i don't think can slack lar, I'm also not looking to slack. like when i went to various garment agencies for stuff, can see they always very busy and alot of things to do, and garment officers also very keen to help and check things for me.

even if some departments slack abit but I think most departments should be very busy and no room to slack.

i worked before in a MNC where the HR is also a lanjiao bitch who played politics. she also damn strange, join the company few months then hop to elsewhere.

so far i dread SME. some are ok but mostly have some issues. generally low celery, low increment, low progression yet high demand. not worth it.

MNC depends. if the HQ treat the branch here as forgotten child, then the branch management will run it like SME. this type not worth it. if HQ send their people to run the branch here, e.g. with GM and upper management from HQ, then will be good in culture, benefits etc.

garment jod i never work before but keen to try. i interviewed with some garment bodies before and my impression is they are more like the top MNCs and not like the SMEs. which is good.

depends on agency, role etc

example like govtech or dsta very hard to slack tbh. ministry depends on role

i told u liao, coz got perm contracts so got people who are slack coz they can never go up. then they also tang ping liao

every now and then will take long leave, knock off on time, take all the mc, offs, medical appts
