Abt India ... if one or
Two my bff goes to hometown n it's convenient then I would cherish e chance to visit

Abt the rape cases .. no doubt other countries hv much lax rules dealing with violent sexual crimes compared to sg or Scandinavia counties ...
eg.
Certain parts of north India ... where many of the undeveloped or under developed places they still see female human as goods or things ...their mindset abt sexual violence against female human is still much like how human abuse things kinda mindset ... but it s usually not the case for developed cities eg in Tamil Nadu or Bengalore where literacy and female education levels r much higher n they do value every child as a human for him or herself.

I m not unfazed about all the sexual crimes against females in India but I m just expressing my thoughts after learning thoughts n opinions from close friends who r born in India who come to sg to work or migrated here more than 10 yrs

Besides the lape issue the food and water will cause food poisoning cos the water from the govt is not clean itself.

I have travelled extensively in India for both work and pleasure. If you go to Mumbai, Bangalore mostly quite safe. The conservative north is a different story. The poor states of the central india is also a whole different story.

In Delhi, outside of the tourist center, its hard to find women hanging out even with men at night. This has nothing got to do with rape but rather the cultural norm that women are not supposed to roam the streets at night, its considered bad virtue. Then you can also hardly find alcohol places like pubs and bars operating openly. Again, alcohol in a conservative hindu city is a no-no.

I also been to rural and poor areas such as Bihar. Not sure how things are nowadays, but back then this place is considered dangerous. When I was there, i followed the advice of locals. Not roaming and travel on the streets after dark. That place was full of hideous poverty, really in your face kind. When it turns dark, people can be seen having sex and shitting out behind trees and all.

It has nothing got to do with india as a country or indians as a 'race'. I think some places are just straight out poor and there is thus a complete absence of education and sanitation.

My bffs mostly from south India Chennai and only one from Mumbai n another fr kerala (also south ) so when I asked them abt violent crimes they d speak from how they knew abt their own spaces from their recollection back when they were young

They told me back then .. even if one is smoking or drinking alcohol it's considered disgrace or public vice and people who hv these habits or vices have to hide to smoke or drink

Eat at street food stalls where you can see your food being cooked thoroughly before your eyes.
Buy unpeeled unprocessed fruits so you can wash and peel the skin urself
Avoid 'exploring' restaurants. try to stick to restaurants u know or if its famous in the neighbourhood or if your friends/co workers know...
