actually southern india is nice, Goa and Kerala. very cheap, and beautiful beaches. people there are much nicer than north.

Cos i prefer solo travel but i like to experience the cultures extremes

As a traveller fr sg in 21 st century , nearly anywh .. even v similar to us places eg Bangkok or kl appears relatively "run down " if we compare city to city's infrastructure..
or maybe u d say I m rose tinted eyes favoring sg alws n too much .. but when I ask my mom she gets same vibe as me.

So I think first thing is when we go overseas don't bring out expectations much then nothing to worry or compare ..

I think going to less developed places give us a chance to immerse ourselves in a different culture , way of life from our usual pattern...

So less developed of course run down a bit bit : given

They give me a glimpse of imagination to hold onto when I think abt my a kong or my bff s childhood days sights n smells ..

but u r right .. too rancid or too filth our overly sanitised nose / tongue / stomach n bodies really cannot endure

Food wise in sg I alws tend to go for 50% familiar , 50% adventurous .. eg if I go to unfamiliar culture I ll eat sthg I m familiar with along w the unfamiliar / new food that I d dare to eat in my own space.

Actually the place not so run down, like some old / not so fashionable places in msia or viet lei
