always remember general rule of thumb. institutions move the market. retails don't.
when there's sell off either is because of one of this reason:
1) sector rotation
2) profit taking by institutions
3)manipulations by the market maker

The difference is their price movement. over the years meta go up never come down much. come down also rebound very fast.

I think it's the earnings part has more tax compare to cspx.. u can check it out.

My DBS, SGX and RMG stocks dropped S$20k from S$145k, big drop. But it was S$118k when I first got it. Now S$125k.

Can I shun bian set a close position for each of these 5 shares right now ($560 close position)? And I carry none of the shares yet cos haven't hit my buy limit.

Market always reacts weirdly and irrationally. I also dont think will suddenly have big positive impact.
If anything the market is more worried because trump is unpredictable. He suka suka announce things then unannounce/renounce and flip.
Until talks with china actually start, market will be very cautious. Or if new developments like cn, jp, kor and EU goes against trump

For stocks, just remember don't be greedy when doing daytrades..getting little profits better than holding bags..unless the stock has great hype which keeps it volatile for that particular day.

I am S$4k plus in the red from USD stocks.
But Elon Musk has the biggest loss so far.
Luckily, not that much in shares.
Mostly in my Seletar Hills property.
I am more worried if my property valuation will drop in future as I have a S$1.7mil loan.
But surprisingly, my house valuation went up by another S$30k to 3.94 mil. I bought at 3.4mil.
Hopefully, our housing values continue to appreciate in the future. As it is the biggest store of Sgpn wealth.

Why did you take losses on your local bank stocks so quickly? I mean these are the relatively strong stocks in SG so it's ok to hold on to them longer as they should recover eventually..

Oh... I read that once collected dividend the share price will drop. So I was playing around with the fallen share price and burnt my fingers... I didn't collect the dividend. I released my stocks on the day before ex date...

Yes can be a bit stressful and mentally tiring looking at trades. I realised I keep glueing onto phone when I'm on trades. Not healthy for moi.
Tiger brokers prevented me from making trades even though my account has enough USD. Anyone using it pls be careful. I contacted helpline and they r looking into this.

Then I started to pay school fees and learn abt the brutality of mkt in 2022 and early 2023. Luckily, the profits from my early days was able to sustain my mistakes.
Been able to hit a certain consistency since the 2nd half of 2023 after adjusting my strategy. Now my accounts are all fully financed by profits..
If you're gonna trade to complement your main job, setting aside USD10k should be enough to earn a decent return each month. But of course you need to be experienced in trading or have someone to guide you..if not, you'll just be paying this 10k to the mkt as school fees.

sg market is doing a healthy pullback bec up continuous 14 days. stock cannot be forever go up without pullback.
u look at ss long term chart its going up in a linear manner albeit very slowly.
August and September is pullback month historically
investors see it as opportunity to buy more when it pullsback
This is your psychology liao.
The only thing that cause drop u need to fear it's recession. but there's no sign of recession. any pullback is only short term might due to profit takings, before it bounce back higher
many countries are coming to deal with us slowly.
the big one is China and they haven't negotiate yet. this one will move the market

Aiyo..why rush to sell? If you were confident of SS long term prospect, should have just held on to it.. it's normal for stocks to drop after ER even if performance was good.
And you shouldn't have bought so much anyway if you couldn't handle the pressure if things go south..should enter at a position which won't cause you to feel stressed.

Yes..you get the gist of it..having patience is really an essential trait to have when it comes to stock trading/investing. But of course I'm referring to those strong stocks..if it's P&D stocks, can just take the loss.
