i got some old handphones, i wonder how to totally destroy them or delete the data.

Spoil one I'll just throw, phone reset then don't care already, small fry data nothing to worry about, no one will try hard to recover from a phone that was already reset

that time i managed to boot it up with cracked screen but very hard to control going into the data.........

have to connect it to laptop or something

Harddisk if able to work with enclosure is can keep, I still got my old laptop harddisk in those casing , can just consider it as extra storage

The one I have is transcend hdd enclosure kit, still working after close to 10 years.

Don't use any newer one as recent upgrade was new desktop so I still have the most recent old laptop with me
