i know most people would reply negatively lol and i can understand why with so many foreigners among us, which affected us socially, and prob raised the prices of things like housing and even made jobs more competitive.

that aside, i was at Jewel just now and as i was leaving the fountain area. I saw a few different groups of tourists, ang mohs and asians, come by and they were all amazed by the fountain.

at that point of time, i felt proud, and that yeah we have come a long way from 1965. of course, the golden years were in 1970s to 1990s.

what a great time it was then. quieter streets. people were more compassionate. jobs were more stable. things were cheaper. and families were stronger cos only one needed to work and can bring up the family. well, at least we get to experience those years.

imagine, the younger millennials and above... their impression of singapore is one that is crowded and that living with so many foreigners is natural for them.

still, as i always say, i may not like pap and the way they are steering the country, but i try not to let this feeling blind me.

alot of people subconsciously associate pap with singapore, which is wrong to me.

singapore can still be great again and a proper home for all of us, with the right leadership.

Last time i sell my iphone an indo guy came all the way from batam i ask him why u come here for he say to see merlion. Im impressed by them they never say anything negative very simple guy if me i think it's quite boring.

singapore is impressive for the casual visitors who are here for only a few days.

but dig deep we are lacking in soul due to the incessant rat race.

as a citizen, yes i'm proud of this country.
as a voter who have the right to vote as a citizen, no SG still can be better. In fact, we abit gostan in term of humanity.

Feel proud during the 25th birthday of Sg. Saw the provost with their drills, the country clean & green & truly can feel sinkies for sinkies. All sinkies will hv no hesitation to protect if war comes. All r sinkies on MRT, walking around us. I felt happy & proud then wen Chinese, Malays, Indians & Eurasian all talking w one another.
