this is one thing i totally dont understand.

i like animals but if u ask me rear them like my son or daughter i think it's dumb as fuck esp if u have to spend tonnes of money on it

i dont want responsibility for something that will 100% no returns

u see it wag its tail v happy? when it grows old and sick u will need to pay tonnes of money. and when it dies u not sad?

Human can be char siew and disagree/argue/quarrel/fight with their parents. Dogs will mostly obey their dog owners

Having kid means parents prolly want the child as an extension of themselves rather than educating the child to lead an independent life. It's all about power dynamics. Having control over someone else. For others, it's prolly just that the kid is a byproduct of sexual intercourse.

actually having kids is a really really big decision

first of all must ensure kid is healthy etc..... and throughout their life no issue. some got mental, some got physical issues

then if they grow up successfully u also got to hope they will repay somewhat. i mean people say dont hope but the source of income is from kids and govt liao right? even my mum got say this - as in dont need to give money, dont worry about them they will take money from govt and renting out flat, if i decide to move overseas and dont give

but still deep inside parents would hope to at least get a few hundred right? even $200 also money. $100 a bit too little liao

i heard my rich cousins gave their parents $300 every mth. but they got 3 people giving $300 each so that' close to 1k then govt still give 720 (increased to 860?) per person every 3 mths

so basically the 2 elderly will have in total about maybe 1.6k per mth? not a lot but sufficient to survive for now

unless u really got tonnes of money

any shit happen along the way will affect u

but if dont want kids, get married for what? so-called companionship, but u must ensure both sides can gel and take care of each other

some women, in fact a sizable number now just want to play when younger. then hit late 30s cannot find her perfect partner just quickly find someone whom they dont really like/love to marry to conform with societal expectations

then the guy marry her for what, if she doesnt love him and dont plan to have kids, dont plan to take care of him...

maybe she is just trying to leech. or trying to not lose out and conform to societal expectations of marriage

it's a true fact of life u cannot deny to be honest. of course there are guys marrying just to leech but i think the number is less. but if u say this fact out people everywhr esp women will be angry and blah blah say why u take us as sex tool/childbearing tool and women can make their own money blah blah

Probably since majority are so called middle class or even lower. The rich ppl I know of are also complaining, dun see them having many children too when they can well afford it and they children are more or less secured for life

The smart ones already save up for the children cos they know the future is tough and their children may not fare well. Mark Lee (the mediacorp guy) mentioned so many times that he bought a condo for each of his children. I know of frens who are doing the same

cannot read too much into social posts, hahahahahha

i dun give a hoot abt my friends' posts, whether its their children shower, wedding or some holidays.... cos theres a few i know who are having problems despite all the happy posts every now and then
