I think hor... govt will provide a bit subsidy etc until 1k for current old people

Then those got a bit of money like 1.5k from cpf or what, wont get much or anything from govt monthly..

you would get about 300k by 55.

300k with 3% returns every year, you will take back 9k/year or 750/mth

rent out your hdb, another 3k+/mth (3 room going rent quite high. after inflation, smelly smelly 3k+/mth liao)

CPF life payouts, depends how much u have inside there (but u might never get it so F it)

at 55 you can have around 4k/mth SGD of cash flow + 300k inside bank account to generate the interest for you to spend.

i just feel, it's better to have options than none and only depend on sinkieland

sinkieland went from third to first in barely 30 years (1960s - 1990s)

it can go back to third just as fast

so if got chance leave, better start thinking.

Ya i thinking of buying an old flat around then rent out current one and save. But the newer flat is also 1978, what u reckon of this decision?

Father in nursing home. Sometimes i bring him back.

Now rented to jhb for a few mths she ok w me bringing father back bt slp on sofa. Actually when i bring him back usually he also slp on sofa for easier access to toilet.

Current old 3 rm flat fully paid up in cash no use cpf. My name not in this flat too.

If i buy the newer flat nearby only newer by 5 yrs. 1973 v 1978

Problem is i do wish to bring my father back at times. The selfish part of me also worry he can tong 5 yr MOP or not also

Dont rly want to sell old place. Good location and nostalgic.

A bit selfish hoping got enbloc but seems more and more unlikely.
