What happened to Seiko ?

I passed by a watch shop today and had a look at the Seiko watches.

Those "lao ah pek" style low-end Seiko 5 automatic watches are selling for over $200+ and some even over $350+.

Is the pricing normal ? When I bought one of such models 6 years ago, the price not even $150...

Pre covid Seiko already position themself in upmarket segment.

Probably can still find seiko 5 in older shops. Eg. Prestige time at bras basah. I bought a skx007 frok k2 for $200 in 2016

Seiko no longer bang for buck brand. Citizen and orient still ok thou citizen is  also expanding their higher end series

For $1k range, best brand for now is Christopher ward

Saw my omega at cash converter selling at $2.5k. Full set, on bracelet with box and papers.

2010 I buy $1.2k, no box no papers haha
