Thing were affordable n no handouts

Things were basic n all need based than wants based
We hardly got cover walkways
Cc s usually quite open concept
Now everything covered walkway
Cc is like castle enclosed n lock out rest of community

In before cos couple spend too much on needs. Eg hols to Europe and car etc

Greed is the root cause of skyrocketing prices. The more greedy we are, the more inflation we experience. For instance, something that used to cost $999 now costs almost $2000.

Let me throw a curveball here.
If the cost of living is reasonable, then so is the cost of keeping this forum running smoothly.
All those expenses, including inflation, really do add up, you know.

no la im not saying that is reasonable, im also saying everything adds up

im saying in perspective. my flat was built in 1973 and cost 9k+ (let's round up to 10k)

51 years later, this place costs about 380-400k

less than 50 yrs lease left and cost 400k, 40x the price in 1973. did our salaries increase 40x?

cost of running the forum is definitely not reasonable for the number of people we get. no economies of scale

Some costs grow so much faster than others
While Telco costs came down so much from 2000
