I know of 1 such couple too. Both are ite grads. Husband drive phv and used to be security guard.. Wife is doing some low admin job. 2 kids

I ever heard low income couple say having children is not expensive too but I digress. I'm not a parents but if providing shelter and 3 meals a day then of cos very doable but nowadays there are many expenses. Even for 3 meals, everyday eat Maggie mee or cai png meh?

you can afford doesnt mean it's affordable

say a family makes 12k or even 15k. many things can afford, but purchasing power is getting smaller

generally we are going downhill and the govt is one of the main causes. of course includes worldwide situation

some of the things they can control or enforce but they nv do anything much, like housing prices and hawker, shops price gouging

like they say what kopi powder increase. mainly is the business owner greed + rise in rent rather than what kopi powder increase.

i just went to buy kopi powder. the better quality i think is $16 per kg the best quality at those shop maybe $20. not counting in those more atas specialized coffee bean outlets lah

but frankly the coffee already sell at dunno $1.80 or what at toast box (i nv buy fr them la), now tiagong dunno is $2.30 or $2.50

if u make at least 3-4k per mth u also can afford. but is it affordable or does it make sense? answer is no

hmm but either way with or without, i think it's ridiculous.

whether or not it's ok right... let's say u make 4k per mth. i think can cope. but not acceptable because the costs are crazy enough

must see everything in tandem to salary and rise in salary. also cannot just look at civil service. even though i feel working for govt or GLC is alr depressing wages enough if u include car and house, compared to say 20, 30 yrs ago when everything including housing and cars are still affordable

transport costs alow increase by dunno what 6% or more, but real wages increase by 1-3%?

then the yakun or normal kopitiam also increase by that or more

electricity also going up. only say give vouchers to block for time being

I think he salary maybe only x2 of his olden days when I was kid
So only minister can keep up w rising col bah
