I don't fully agree.  There are two issues here

Religious beliefs
- i think that is what should be aligned relatively well otherwise there will be conflicts

Moral values
- this is the tricky part.  It's actually more dependent on upbringing or personal conscience than religious beliefs.  A religion might teach one to love the neighbour but it doesn't necessarily follow that the religious adherent will do that.  It also doesn't mean that a non follower of a religion cannot love the neighbour as well.

So that's my main disagreement and that it's two points. Cannot conflate religious beliefs with moral values cos they are separate.  Ideally one can say they should be the same but I have seen life and it's too simplistic to say it like this

Irl if I see someone a bit inconsistent I really shun them like detour around them .. go to the farthest possible toilet or food place .. basically go out of my way to avoid too much in contact w someone who s insincere .. I agree.. I think a human s moral compass is largely affected by first his family culture

Then subsequently in his pov : what he subscribe to as Truth.

Most ppl I know don't have absolute truth subscription .. i thk faith holders eg Buddhist Christian muslims do hv some reference point for truth .. others just go by I use my conscience yes

Yea agreed there r many freethinkers who live more righteous and decent lives than many of faith holders and vice versa too

But I also want to say .. many of the faith holders also did many great n important things but we humans tend to remb bad ones 99 times more than good ones
