frankly it's not dont want kids but it's rly a super ultra heavy commitment........ 200k is minimum of the most minimum liao we all know. that one is if ur kid is super healthy super smart get scholarship etc

There's the joy of raising kids
But I barely have enough money to take care of myself I cannot afford to have a kid/cat/dog
Western societies are more inclined towards the kids once grown up being individuals independent of their parents
In Chinese culture if the parents have many children the siblings can take care of their parents together when they are old. If only child.. all these only childs can send their parents to nursing home to be collectively taken care of imo

A joy to the couple who get to experience parenthood? Everything revolves ard the parents' checklist. Bring joy to them, they experienced parenthood, life is complete etc bs

To a certain extent, I compare this to doing volunteer work. It should bring joy to the recipient not so about the giver's feelings. Or giving a present on special occasion, the recipient should be the one who benefit the most not the giver. The giver dun buy whatever he/she likes, instead should buy whatever recipient like

ya thats why u alr said. there's a caveat to it.

i thank my parents for bringing me up they are good parents but do i really love life? even if i do the slightest bit (which is really not a lot) u still have to die at the end.

i feel my life is lacklustre and bad compared to peers (the people i go to sch with, work with), of course i cannot say my parents didnt try to give me their best

i dont think i can be as selfless as them and theres always the chance that me being a terrible kid will have worse off kids

then going back to cost of living and life from here on, with AI all those etc......... it's harder to live now compared to decades ago
