geylang lor 29? hokkien mee is very controversial. it's very oily and the mee mushy and soggy, but got wok hei and at the same time chao tar smell. the smell is nice and they use lots of eggs and the prawns are fresh and lard give quite a bit and use the 韭菜 which is rare. i feel eat once in a while is not bad but apart from being ex, it's quite very jelat

ah yong's kueh is actually not bad, more consistent than the jalan kukoh kueh

the beach road michelin bak chor mee, i think it's ok only. not bad not terrible but overhyped and overpriced. u buy back means not nice

the outram park CKT i feel standard not rly there and u cannot dabao back else it tastes worse than other ckt, because i think they fry it more saucy so when u go back the ckt become in bits and their hum is smaller although a lot. part of the sauce they use the cockles blood so the smell is stronger (a lot of people nv notice)

what else ah....... ok pineapple tarts that time i nv reveal. bengawan solo's one is nice, but the D'pastry one is also good, next year u all can buy to try. it's damn ex though. a lot of those reviews the people's tastebuds also shitty tbh

the hong xing fishball noodle is not bad. lixin one can taste it's freshly made but i feel the bounce is slightly less than hong xing

then the longhouse popiah at kim keat is actually nice. but sort of close down liao, they got website though. the turtle soup there is actually buay pai, but it's weird that their chicken soup tastes similar

hmm what else ah. ah liang shark meat and zhu jiao dong is not bad esp the zhu jiao dong. the shark meat the sauce not everyone will like cause it's sweet sauce. i personally dont like but both are teochew dishes

i find punggol nasi lemak actually not bad tbh. i feel the Alderic? or some guy his taste buds usually quite zhun.

Song fa i find it ok as a chain. told u the original outlet was at raffles hospital now

then bak kwa, the one which BSG recommended is also more towards my taste, than LCG or the Peng Guan or sth.
I would say the one he recommended? dunno is Kim Hua Guan or sth wins LCG, which wins Peng Guan. but Peng Guan price point really cannot fight

egg tarts. i like the custard from the one near OG. but many people dont find their crust nice. i find it acceptable. It's toh kee, but i cant rem the new name. it's still selling. I like their custard but the crust is ok barely acceptable - just not good. If they make it more flaky or put more butter to improve then i would think it's better. but the crust is quite tasteless from what many say and feel

If talk about custard alone i like the Toh Kee one near their duck rice. these stalls are related. If crust then tong heng but they should use less lard

I find it not overly sweet nor overly eggy compared to the Tong Heng, but can taste Tong Heng's crust and maybe custard uses pork lard. makes it smell nicer but also more jelat. the crust is more crispy.

I find bengawan solo's one last time not bad, just that the custard is a bit hard and the egg tart crust is cold. but it's more balanced. if their custard can be softer then i would prefer that. and i dont like them putting it in the fridge... but i think they nv sell liao

CKT one i must go the Outram one (last time no queue one back in outram, or shorter queue). there was also a duck noodle there that i still rem eating with my mum... it's a bit herbal one

Roast Duck will be dian xiao er for restaurants... recently the hongisbored say bendemeer got super nice roast duck... i think i will go try that soon and see whether it's worth the hype.

the kai lan im mixed about it. i like the citrusy taste and most of the dishes but the citrusy taste also a bit weird.

most restaurants can make pretty good kai lan.......

including the Lai Huat seafood at horne road. that one is good u can order the 比目鱼....... which is what they usually use or the pomfret. i feel the bi mu yu version is nicer........ Oh ya it's called Sole Fish. It's also called Halibut. u can go google. it's a deep water fish but the eyes were at first on different side, then slowly migrated to be on same side coz i think it's a bottom sucker fish

it's 80% or more similar to Cod Fish, i think SG and Asia uses atlantic Cod. but the price is probably slightly more than half. and it's less oily and soft.

It has more texture i feel, similar taste at roughly 60% of the price. go buy from song fish and steam it yourself the teochew way. i guarantee u, ur parents will love it.

Cod fish, u cut into it become mushy or mixed into the sauce liao. this sole fish/halibut can maintain its shape until u kiap it up.

even if u fry it, it's less wasteful than cod fish which is like what, $70 or what.......

actually im wrong. the real cod probably tastes different since i think we are mostly buying chilean seabass.

maybe one day i will buy and test the 3 for u all and buy for my father or sth

but chilean seabass is still damn super ex compared to halibut.

if not wrong, at song fish, 1 pack of "cod fish" chilean seabass is $80 or sth while halibut is $50

Actually the Atlantic Cod's cross section looks way more alike to Halibut than anything

but deep water fish bottom feeder, maybe they say got more mercury or sth
