Different era different mindset and constraints so I dun really blame them
But in this time and age, as much as I'm against excessive tuition and buying iphone for children, this is the way of life now. So, if you want to have children, better be able to afford beyond the basics

Saw on MSm saying that $2k/mth on a child is excessive. Well, better to overestimate than underestimate the cost

$2k/mth for children in this day and age is reasonable factoring inflation. Parents shouldn't give birth if they intentionally want to 穷养孩子. Child spending should be done in moderation. What comes around goes around.

Speaking as a millenial, to this day I am unable to accept the mindset of boomer parents treating millennial children like that even then. Inflation was much lower and they had more purchasing power even as a sole breadwinner.

Yes, parents these days can definitely give them a better life but at the same time should grind them a little

To a certain extent I agree with boomers. Eg. I expect primary 4 kids and above to go home by themself,  sec then have hp, nsf to not have the yoga mat when doing sit ups and push ups. These are some boomer mindset of mine
