Hmm if u can save up buy a new one might be better. If now repair maybe not worth it depending on which component spoil.

I google macbook 2020 is only $800.

If say u repair $300 or more its not worth it imo.

Macbook pro 2021 is only 1.5k leh. I mean with this price gauge better to get a newer one second hand but abt the cost of a mobile phone nia.

With the newer m1 chip.

No Guessing Game

2015 mac is already end of life. No OS support, no security updates. Better to buy a newer model that is still supported.

If dun need the portability of a laptop, can get the latest mac mini m4 for $850. Can use for at least 7 yrs or even 10 yrs

A MacBook Pro A1398 likely has no OS support because it is an older model that is no longer compatible with the latest versions of macOS, meaning Apple does not provide updates or security patches for it, leaving you unable to install a current operating system on the machine; you may need to consider alternative solutions like using an older macOS version or potentially finding a third-party OS option if you want to continue using it.
Key points about the A1398 MacBook Pro:
Outdated hardware:
This model is considered outdated by Apple standards, meaning it cannot run newer macOS versions due to hardware limitations.
Limited OS options:
If you try to access macOS Recovery, you might only be able to reinstall an older version of macOS that is compatible with your machine, which may not be the most secure option.
No updates:
Apple will not release any new security updates for this model, making it vulnerable to potential threats.
What to do if your MacBook Pro A1398 has no OS support:
Check compatibility:
Use Apple's support website to confirm which macOS versions are compatible with your specific MacBook Pro A1398 model.
Consider upgrading:
If possible, consider upgrading to a newer MacBook that can run the latest macOS versions for better performance and security.
Use an older macOS:
If you need to continue using the A1398, try to install the latest compatible macOS version available for your model.
Explore alternative OS options:
Some users may choose to install a different operating system like Linux on their older Macs, but be aware of potential compatibility issues.
