Work at same company for whole life

I know of 7 ppl who work in same company since grad from poly/uni, 3 from cs/military

Another few 2nd job work til now

Unless those very rare really good company, nowadays stay in one company is get abuse by boss only.

Get flagged as sheep who will always stay, can dump everything that no one else want to do there

My father also. Sme. But i know many in cs work same place entire life. Even if kena aim refuse to leave

I mean its understandable if ure 50s then got family and mortgage. But if late 30s, early 40s dont even want to try to change dept or ministry i feel 活该

my father worked for airline coy his whole life then retired

my mum also sama sama, worked for 1 airline coy her whole life then retired

both worked 40 years+

I know someone.  Started off as a student nurse in this dept.  this was pre 1965. When he started working, he was in the same department.  When he retired in 2010, from the same department, the department just wasn't the same and he came back for a one year stint cos of some issues that only he can settle.

It's not that the handover wasn't done or everyone was dependent on him but some of the big bosses were not even born when he was working there (and we are talking about big bosses) so his aura was just too strong.  Cos it's not only same organisation it's same department also
