Quote from: Keeptrucking on Jan 10, 2025, 12:56 PMLMW really getting punching a lot more above his weight and he is not even an MP!

imagine if we have another 10 more of him in parliament to check on pap.

he makes WP look bad. WP has been resting on their laurels for too long, contented to just be an opposition without pushing hard enough.

though i sometimes wonder if WP is employing a tactic to quietly build up their strength and numbers in parliament before going all out.

After lousy Iswaran & Than an leaving, really hope sinkies will switch to the other side & vote PSP in.

West sai pap sai hard to gain traction. Opposition should focus more on eastern half of SG.

Psp is like one man show now. All dependent on lmw and he's not young. Tcb already is even less influencial now

Sdp csj also one man show and he's also not as active now thou I dun blame him

WP has been disappointing for the past recent yrs. Overpromise under deliver. Csm and now jamus lim....way overhyped. Then multiple  own goals

the opposition climate is really tough in singapore. almost every facet of life here controlled by pap. all the data, stats, press...

i think to an extent, need singaporeans to cast a brave vote for oppositions. WP and the likes of Jamus... they prob are the ones we still have to vote for, despite not doing as well as LMW.

need more oppositions in the parliament before more good candidates are willing and dare to appear.

U try fighting the 80+ MPs & organ of the state. Surely get worn out. That's their tactics. No one should give up since at least 39%-40% combined still voted for other parties & tat is not a small figure.

Oredi quite a big percentage 39% to 40% combined to alternative parties. Now is to capture more GRCs. We need East Coast & West Coast to fall...One by one.

Which speaks of the fact that there are many ppl against pap. They are smart they use the GRC system which still allows them to hold major control.

If it is all smc it will be a different story.

i only hope that if or when the day comes that pap does something really crazy, we will be united enough to stand up for it, even if it means protesting (like the koreans).

and if it happens, the spf and saf won't turn against the people.

peaceful protests happen everywhere around the world every day. even in scandinavian countries.

it is only here that we are cowed into such ridiculous laws. i think it is a travesty and tragic that we do not have an avenue to share our thoughts freely, without any fear of repercussion.
