this Malay bro, quite friendly and hardworking. difficult to maintain his nasi padang stall though as the footfall is not that high.

Another hawker moi eat regularly ish nice roasted meat, duck and soup closing end next month.

Got it himself i think. The rental was ok but the overheads added up. He still had to pay a makcik 2000 a month to cook. End up very little left for him. After that he started cooking himself but cld not tahan the hours as he had to prepare and then cook all the food.

oh his business model is different. the makcik works/cooks from her home. then he will pick it up and brings it to the stall to sell.

there is minimal cooking at the stall, maybe eggs, rice or chicken wings.

i did tell him before that it will be good to do some cooking at the stall as customers will see that the food is fresh.

but it is hard as he does not cook. though in the end he tried to do it by learning off YouTube when paying the makcik 2k a month became untenable.

unfortunately, i put it down to the poor footfall at the market. i spoke to the carrot cake uncle there and he said that people eating out has dropped alot over the past two years. he said prob due to the economy and that people choosing to spend their money in JB.

He does not know how to cook. I think he overestimated the footfall at the hawker. There was a month he told me he made only a few hundred dollars or so after paying off the makcik and other overheads.

Quite wasted as the food is not bad actually just that the presentation can be better as the way he displays it not as enticing - lights not strong, does not look like a lot of choices...

Got new BTOs popping up and developments on the empty plots of land near mattar mrt. good time to go in and buy now while prices are still reasonable and the place is still under the radar.
