if u really just want to start a forum. this smf forums is totally free. u just throw in some default theme

then just need to pay webhosting.

if u want articles, events all those in the hopes of it sustaining itself obviously it will cost more time and effort and money to develop


if u just want a xenforo like hwz, but totally nothing else then u can google for the license + u check hosting lor.

if u are good enough in IT u can maintain urself, then purely a forums and nothing else. i told u hosting maybe what, 400+ annually?

Domain + dunno what maybe less than $50?

If u want xenforo like hwz, or vbulletin it will be around 3k per yr also, not counting in development fees or other add-ons

If u go their cloud, means $250 per month - i think is in USD. if u all want then pay for that lor, it's also not cheap if u look at it. that's for business users

then i restart the forums based on hwz, but will need everyone to chip in for just the xenforo + hosting and if dunno got what other add-ons if required
