High Court strikes out suit by 36 death row inmates on legal aid for post-appeal

A policy not to provide legal aid for post-appeal cases did not infringe death row inmates' constitutional rights, the judge found.

But applications brought "at an eleventh hour and without merit" could be seen as a "stopgap" measure to delay the carrying out of the offender's sentence, he said, quoting a previous judgment.

The 36 inmates include 34 convicted drug offenders and two convicted murderers - Iskandar Rahmat and Teo Ghim Heng - who face the death sentence. They were not represented by lawyers for this application.

I rem that time got certain group of people all stand up for him. say it's a conspiracy, confirm not him, sure got some details not leaked maybe is another guy , that he was framed and they trying to find a scapegoat to quickly close the case.
