In China now and just realised not returning tray is a very bad sight

I was at macdonalds and saw these two gers left a huge pile of mess behind and the poor understaffed crew had to clean it up.

Seeing from a third party pov really looks very bad on the two gers.

Feels very uncouth.

Last time in hawker, sometimes very difficult to find cleaner to clear the table
And not many of them had those tray return racks

Of course, the downside of the tray return policy, is no one comes to clean the tables ☹️

Chiu is not lazy at all. Don't let all those self righteous ppl think returning a tray is what a paying customer should do. Anyone feels like doing it, go ahead to do. No need to impose on others to do the same. Moi experience at BKK airport food court is such a good experience. The cleaners were on alert & once we leave, they immediately came to clear. Will hv returning customers for sure with their good customer service.

Thailand they even provide tissue paper at each table loh

Means the eatery not hiring enough workers. Something wrong with their system

Was there for travel and in beijing as well as visited yungang grottos and hanging monataries. Amazing places.

I used to hv very unpleasant thoughts about China folks but my visit has changed a few things:

- their manners hv improved alot due to public education and modernisation. People do hold doors and say thank you. Of course not all.

- they have breathtaking historical and cultural sites.

- people queue up a lot more now.

- they hv advanced very very rapidly over the past twenty years both in terms of infrastructure and social behaviour.

Yes, you still get people smoking in the open, spitting and using loudspeaker on their mobile phones in the train but it is very obvious that their gov wants to eradicate or at least make these better.

I am very sure in another ten to twenty years if China were to continue in this path they will be a first world country with people who can behave in a socially conscious way.
