i try to hit the gym 2 or 3 times a week. but my knees are shot so i do elliptical for cardio.
damn sian. feel like me being 20 year old was just a few years ago. prime of life can just whack my body.
for those who don't, is it cos of lazy and/or no time?
body takes longer to recover and back then no time cos work hrs are crazy
den gradually grow lazy, now old so just do walks whenever possible
I believe many ppl including myself went thru this phase of life. Stop exercising after ns due to studies, work and life in general. Only when received a health scare at 30s or 40s then begin to be more health conscious again
Sigh. Still rmb during pri and sec so active....
I started doing calisthenics and light jogging in 2019 til now. Nothing spectacular thou. Can't do 10 pulls ups and din take part in any marathon hahah

I exercise around 3 to 4 times a week, but this is due to the fact that I am unemployed.
When i was WFH, i would exercise 5 to 6 times a week but i also had injury problems.

My max was 12 pullups last year but I am not sure if those count or not, as I am swinging quite a bit.
I am envious of those people who can do strict pullups and can pull all the way up to their chest. I am training for that but so far no progress...
No wor but now trying to get back to doing more. Rly feel health going down. 39 going on 40 this yr

I read somewhere that duration is more impt than distance so dun be bothered about the 2km. Best is exercise/jog for 30mins
For me 30mins is too xiong so I try to jog 20mins (3km) twice weekly. Then do some calisthenics twice weekly too

Better got milo (some calcium intake than none)
If this milo is ur only main source of calcium then u just try to also Jiak other sources of calcium in a variety of diff foods then will enuf ..
Not sure what u mean "quite heavy " I thk either u mean u r quite weighty / heavy or u lift v heavy weights .. just make sure u do the proper posture so u don't spoil ur joints 🙏🏿💪🏿
And I thk weight training wise resting ... ensuring enuf is enuf is as important as working out for preventing injury

mine was 100kg x 5 reps. full reps. and 3 sets. so it is a working set.
and, i am at least a decade older. :D
don't really want to push too much as i don't wanna get injured. no point as not competing or what haha
Running + stretching or running + strength training is better for 40s bbfa?

I do light jogging (7min/1km), stretching, variants of push ups, squats, climb stairs, some calisthenics
Purpose is for general health, mobility and some strength nia
I'm planning to get a coach to help me with gym training. Just gonna book one to two sessions to teach me how to use the gym equipments. From then on I will do on my own liao.

Same here. I don't wanna push that hard also. I am super injury prone, especially for my age.
I think I became really susceptible to injuries ever since I got my slip disc at 24 years old :(

This shouldn't be counted. I mean technically some swinging from natural momentum is counted for IPPT but definitely not kicking/kipping.
Still, I realized that the natural swinging hurts my shoulders, so I decided to sacrifice the number of reps in order to ensure that my pull ups are stricter.

Quality over quantity! You did the right thing
I also heck care about quantity or timing. Just slowly do and jog. I also dun post on social media or strava etc

Lol i still post on social media and strava for my runs, just to make myself feel better.
Pullups idk how to post on social media also. If you are filming yourself, you probably need to film at a good angle in order to show how strict your pullups are anyway.

ya good call bro. i used to train hard when i was younger. then i realise as i get older that it is quite pointless, the risk and rewards. Personal best, imo, should only be pursued if you are young and have all your joints in good health.
Just not worth it unless you are a professional athlete.
now just try to maintain a certain level of strength, health and physique. enough.

I only keep track of my runs by year and by shoes
I was thinking and still thinking... whether to vent frustrations by running, exercising or by drinking and smoking
Or both
Thinking of getting a fitness tracker. Then maybe change to gym clothes act yi ge healthy to corlicks after work
But actually is go home

Ya they not standard one. But got those youtube record ones mostly still got some standard...
Some do a few thousands in 24 hrs to break world record. That one tbh even if not standard can give face la... siao eh few thousands.. im thinking if i rly train like them for 7-10 mths seriously will i be able to hit 1k in 24 hrs or not
Current record i think is 8k over 24 hours
I think at my peak fitness last time if keep training, hitting 1k within 24 hours is possible
But those people they say do training nearly everyday for 3 to 4 hours
I feel like trying to hit new milestone for running, sit ups and pullups, pushups to see how far i can go... before i turn 40

I used to train 3 to 4 hours around 5 times a week when I was 21, and also during COVID period when WFH was still a thing.
Now that I am in my 30s, it's really difficult to even go past 2 hours for one session. Not to mention training 5 days a week these days will make my muscles really sore and increase the chances of injury.
