yeah it is fake and ex... but honestly, singapore is so small we really have to bank on such gimmicks to attract tourists. we don't have many natural sites or steep cultural places.
and if you go on weekday afternoon Jewel can be a relaxing place to just walk around aimlessly and have a cup of coffee.

hmm i get your point but i guess this is one way we can make a difference from other countries? we are really lacking in a lot of attractions.

Why are we wanting vistors? Do you home lack vistors? A home is a home, a country is a country. The ppl living inside is more important. A sanctuary for the people not for visitors.
The money collected had not helped sinkies in all these years. One project after another like renovations at home. Why do you need a bigger garden？ If really rich, no need borrow from bank, collect more gst, then ok. But need to keep on working to build better garden/collect taxes for airport/memorial park. It is never enough and we are paying for it.

See post #17. We are sharing spaces, infrastrature...look at eg of visitors at NUS. The uni is for current students to study peacefully, gain knowledge. Now you want foreign students to takeover the places? Where will our sinkies get knowledege? Run overseas with huge expenses from parents working their butts off? It is vanity, like wanting to be better than your neighbours.
