Title: Budget meals
Post by: Arctic on Jul 04, 2024, 09:51 AM
What's the purpose of it?

It simply means hawker food are no longer affordable thus gov have to step in and introduce budget meals where most of the time, the price is indeed lower but food portion is also smaller

OOT a bit, same for hdb. Public housing at $1mil lol. Leave it to mkt forces, willing buyers, willing sellers. Genius.

I honestly don't know wtf the government is doing. They like to raise prices then introduce stupid solutions to the problems they created (GST and CDC vouchers included), then make it sound like they are geniuses.

To shame the poor people for being poor and being unable to afford hawker meals at "affordable" prices. Typical arrogant mentality of the pap for not containing the price inflation well. One day JB will become "the shenzhen" whilst sg will become "the hongkong". Public housing prices is a good indicator of this.  JB stands a good chance to overtake sg because it has the land and is geographically very close to SG.  I don't see what sg has to offer that is better than JB besides safety and a more pro business govt (than MY).

Exactly. This is why i really fucking hate Singaporean boomers. They are also the one who are pro-WFO and experienced the fruits of the economic boom.

Yet somehow the younger generations are the strawberries even though we have to deal with high cost of living and salaries that can barely keep up with inflation.
