i think not as simple as that. need to rewind to way before to know why hamas want to attack. and israel has done a lot of atrocities in palestine. they are defo no angels.

imagine, if you are a young man in your early twenties, with no job, and have your movement controlled by Israelis, and you see and hear of stories from your ancestors going through what they did, what will you do? basically having no future in your country and getting oppressed.

If israel kenna defeated and more of their children get killed, this israel is now the underdog, the world also won't care. Maybe the political leaders will care but who knows?

I don't think israel has done a lot of "atrocities" against Palestinians.  Its war

But israel is definitely not an angel either.  When I was in israel, my impression is that israel actually doesn't want to fight the Palestinians BUT they have this tit for tat way of thinking.

Meaning a Palestinian attack will be met with retaliation.  And the Palestinians will retaliate and israel will retaliate.  So the cycle of violence will not cease.

And given that there are Palestinians who believe all israel actually belongs to them, the violence won't end.  Of cos there are Israelis who also think that way but they are more easily controlled or negotiated with.

It's very messy and history is revised a lot all the time.
