 The Ministry of Trade & Industry is reassessing Singapore's growth forecast for this year. Our growth will be hurt, though it is too early to tell by how much. Singaporeans and businesses should be psychologically prepared for rough weather ahead.

trump feels countries has been taking advantage of America all the while and the past presidents didn't care.
countries have been imposing tariffs on America. he wants to level the playing field to make America great again
he wants to bring jobs ashore back to Americans.
the national debt is increasing and he wants to reduce it

Hmm, it may be a net positive for Sg as we have the lowest tariffs.

Companies are already looking to relocating here to escape their countries' high tariffs.

Therefore can't let China be too out of hand especially it can't be a democratic country aligning with communist countries (Russia, NK, Vietnam, Cambodia...Etc)  to try takeover.
