Case at Family Mart Angsana Mall, Johor Bahru:

I was just eating normally and the uncle asked me if I was Chinese. I said yes because it was a normal question. Then he asked me to show my ID even though we can't show our ID to strangers.

Talking about me?

My experience with the Malays in JB so far ok leh. They are quite kind. Last time had no coin for vending machine one Malay lady gave me her coin to buy a drink. Actually my experience with Malays, Pakistanis muslims are all good. My clinic have 2 friendly Malay CAs, one very cheerful. No problems with them leh. JB Pakistani gardener contact helped us a lot to get his friends to paint our house and relay our floor tiles for much cheaper than Chinese contractors.

Malaysian malays are generally okay with native Singaporeans. Can't say the same for jhk/jhbs working in SG. Speaking from personal exp. :frown:

Not talking about you particularly but if you intend to retire there, better be safe than sorry. Don't ever forget May 1998 riots of Indonesia.
