A party can win a majority of seats with a plurality of votes.

This is different from proportional representation where proportionality exist between votes received and seats won.

Also different from majority system where candidates need to receive 50% + 1 vote to win a seat.

No Guessing Game

In Westminster system, voters can blame ministers, who are appointed by the Prime Minister. In a popularity vote, however, the winner can rightly blame the voters because the voters directly voted for the individual. :flash:

Luckily in sg, there is "no blame culture" in gov and cs

Instead citizens get all the blame
