Dinks are doing the right thing here. Not to bring a kid to this wretched world to suffer and continue this vicious cycle.

Having children is like a luxury these day. Ever have a parent who told me have children is cheap

I just arm chio and smile. If his definition of cheap is just providing a shelter and food then yah, I kind of agree with him. No tuition, no overseas trips, no fancy toys for children etc

actually have kids is rly a super big gamble. u cannot confirm he/she will turn out ok.

i mean just averagely ok without health problems, mental problems, attitude problems, study problems....... adult problems

as more people get married older a lot are no longer fertile and coupled with the above, many are afraid also.

if u have kids need to have 2 so the other one got companion and also u cannot confirm 1 will screw up or not

then if u have 2 also possibility will abandon u

a lot of unknowns tbh

depends on how u look at it...... even the so-called windfall so ur kid so damn smart become doctor/lawyer, still need to compete with AI and he/she might not be filial at all

the costs involved really is very big as mentioned in hwz........ if ur kid is zai u probably still need to spend 200k onwards on him or her. if buay zai means double or more

times are tougher now, when ur kid grows up that's 18-21 yrs later

Children need to invest one no such thing as let him grow up naturally. To them have children it's just to fulfill life process

If raising a child means just providing shelter and food, then paiseh the parent is a narcissistic char siew. Not much different to raising a pet.

Parents won't think so much. They thot everything will happen naturally and happily for them, their children will be the exception and make it big in life
