before u all say what last time salary low, i think we calculated many times before. 1973 a flat cost $9500 at my current place while the salary was maybe 500. For ease of reference let's make it 20x

the same flat cost 44k in 1985. yes very ex but still manageable

now our salary vs BTO only 20x? and last time 1 person work can buy house and every shit. now fresh grads get higher but most of us are stuck near their salaries or not by much

yet a prime HDB costs $750k for 4 room at tanjong rhu and still got shit stuff like 10 yr MOP and cannot rent out entire flat placed upon us.

if a young couple wants to buy this maybe their total salary only 8k. that's 100x. last time 1 person only now 2 person still need to pay 100x, which means it's actually 200x

Ho kwon ping of banyan tree always say success is largely dependent on luck and I wholly agree. There are ppl who work hard for it too and I dun discredit that but ultimately luck play a big part

I know of ppl who become first time parents in their 40s, ppl who only have 1 kid, ppl who sold bto to buy condo + car, buy branded and go travel etc. Must be doing well.....

Moi had to agree since moi from that gen and although we do not
hv HP or all these fanciful gadgets, we did hv good living and affordable landed houses and cars.
Especially many of our gen are in landed housing early 70s whether in village or kampong.
The teachers can afford terrace at $10K at Serangoon Gardens with long  and hv pensions.
10 yrs ago moi oredi warned the speculation of housing and next gen cant service the loans
but selfish gen happy seeing the prices keep rising.
Since there had been watershed GE2010, moi tot got hope.
Nao not sure & gonna run road since not clever to keep on paying the high salary of the politicians
& they r not doing anything exceptionally good or at best good for sinkies.
It has to hv 33% of alternative parties MP and will even vote any low calibre.
Until then, it will continue with Sg prosperity but sinkies sinking in huge debts.

Now it's a must to invest in stocks/crypto else really will lose out. A worker's salary can only provide you for basic survival these days. Want to get that million dollar property? Get a long term loan. Want to study a degree? Get a loan. Want to buyed cat? Get a loan. Haven't earn a million dollars and already accrued debts. Except if chiur parents are rich or chiu inherited property/ assets from them.
