i have been to the places he went.

tbf, he suffered cos he went on a low budget trip and experienced the place like a local.

i hired a guide/driver to go around the places, and only ate at proper restaurants with listed prices, never eating street food or taking their public transport. and their four/five star hotels are  affordable. i never had any health issues there.

so the experience was actually not as bad.
