I went to a couple of chalets along the beach near the Changi golf club with my reservist mates. Those large white standalone bungalows with a porch. If walk to the other end can find two graves.

Did not stay overnight though. Large groups ok, but i guess can be creepy if alone or just a couple of people.

Apparently, toddlers can see such things as they are still 'fresh' from their rebirth.

Quote from: Arctic on Jan 06, 2025, 02:58 PMNowadays nobody go chalet liao

still have a lot bro.

i used to go to changi village very often, esp on weekends so i know.

i will then walk from the hawker centre to the boardwalk, then cut through the chalets before cutting back through to the boardwalk again.

weekdays i am not sure but the chalets are mostly full on weekends.

i think partly cos civil servants get to use it a cheaper rate, and a lot of families also use it for BBQs, birthday celebrations and gatherings.

where else in singapore to BBQ in comfort other than chalets?

i also saw YP at the chalets. I guess it is still good for those big gatherings, or small special interest groups that you cannot hold at hotels.

also, chalets are still more free and easy, can walk around in flip flops and BBQ, drink, smoke...

more low ses yes, but it has a different charm too. more chill. and of course one cannot BBQ at hotels lol
