Quote from: Keeptrucking on Mar 15, 2024, 02:49 PMIs it common for scandals between docs and nurses?

And does docs treat nurses with no respect?
Scandals I dunno.  Many doctors end up marrying nurses but scandals?  Not so common or hush hush

As for respect, generally it's not so bad now compared to last time so there is more respect.

No guessing game

Quote from: Philipkee on Mar 15, 2024, 11:01 AMWhat do you mean?  Cos most nurses choose the hospitals they want to work.  Either by seeking sponsorship or applying there.

It's not like the MOH will look at a batch of nurses and say ok you go here or there.  Unless they seek MOH sponsorship but that is not common cos by and large, people want to choose which hospital they will work for post graduation

How does a human or nurse decide before he goes to a course that he likes a certain organisation or a certain hospital over all e rest today ? Which of these r most impt to a new nurse usually ? Remuneration / benefits / type of care they would like to render / workplace culture / patient profile ?

In the ward, basically routine tasks according the schedules - report taking, medicines, doctor rounds, attending to patient and so on.

In theatre, it really depends on the cases scheduled for the day.  So it's structured but not like the ward in the sense that everyday is a different day in the OT but it's different in the ward where it's the same patients most of the time ( I was in C class so a lot of long stayers)

In ED it really depends on the case for the day.  Cos with few exceptions, nobody wake up in the morning planning to the ED unlike in theatre, the surgery is already scheduled. So it is a more dynamic environment

In public hospitals?  Ok la now they start to increase our pay. But "many money" is unlikely unless you get a niche job in private and usually this will be in OT or ICU
