some things they rly did screw up incl foreigners part. what i feel they did wrong was ask us to integrate to them and also give top jobs to them. the top jobs should go to the ones more deserving and as the govt they should grow more local talents

and i feel they did help the poor and needy etc but a lot more could be done. there's a lot of loopholes for the rich and crappy outcomes, people who fall through cracks

i got cousins and friends who got help grassroots. some of these do it for goodies (which is not a lot) and a bit of fame. like what parking slot lah, easier to choose hdb lah, maybe got higher chance to go into pri sch got MP can help to write letters lah

but all these boh bao one and is just small perks. since i not as 伟大 as them nor clamour for fame, perks i cannot say all of them are bad

but we cannot discount some are really out to help. just like social workers, i interacted with many. some join just for money

some really got passion

some got passion then after that got jaded. it's quite sad and taxing. tbh if u are a dr/nurse/social worker and u put emotions into every case

the subsidies and help given to PG and the very poor is really a lot.

they subsidise medical fees till u basically pay little to none. my mum's bill came to 400k+ when in ICU for 3 mths

all paid for by various help. ended up the bill i think less than 10k, cant rem

i mean for sure they inflated like mad - this part i think very cb also

but if let's say the actual bill is more like half, 200k+........ the govt also helped a lot to cut to very little. of course we got insurance (i think dunno which plan B that is paid by medisave from my dad), and part of it paid by my dad's medisave and my aunt volunteered. i also got medisave....... end up i think nv deduct from my aunt's medisave

i mean if it were much longer then i dunno liao.

but some policies still shit although they try to help. my dad in nursing home each mth around 1k (if i add up my visits, bringing food and bringing him to checkups, probably 1.5k or at least 1.2k)

but their policy is per capita less than 1.9k then can get subsidy, else i have to pay full nursing home fee of 3k+

Yah, which is why it's not easy to meet the requirements. Also ,There are people who fall through the cracks and don't meet the requirements because other household family member got a higher salary which pulls up the household income per capita. The govt expects the middle income household member to foot the bill for those who are not well to do in the family. This together with poor family relationships complicate matters.

I think if PRs want to buy, they should pay additional maybe 10-20% more

and only allow to sell back to HDB at prevailing price or their buying price (whichever lower)

once u have this policy in place, IMMEDIATELY we will get enough housing and they can no longer profit and prices will come down

and have to catch those renting out but not living here

because they can no longer make a profit from this, unless at least 1 spouse is singaporean. but also if only 1 is Singaporean, they should get less/no grants (this part im not sure) and also made to pay more and can only sell back to HDB

in this case, unless both the PRs turn to Singaporeans (which means they dedicate their lives to SG), they can not profit from this
