Title: Does it piss you off that some foreigners can become citizen without serving NS?
Post by: Keeptrucking on Apr 07, 2024, 07:15 PM
While we bled sweat and tears??

I know of one who even lied to me that he was a storeman in army.

Ended up he married a singaporean and now staying here.

I know of at least another one like that.

What is the criteria for them to serve you guys know?

Yes.

That's why NS is too long, should cut to 10 months.

I think NS is quite fun.

Prepared and Taught me how to siam arrows in adult working life as a whole.

Also how to manage expectations in real life situations. As in u tryed but cannot change the environment so u change to adapt to the environment instead.

Personally will not support abolishing ns

NS was the best time of my entire life.

I dare say cos I pass half century mark liao

actually im 50-50 on this one.

tbh u cannot expect older foreigners to go through NS and this becomes an issue for population growth because we cannot grow organically (have own kids)

even the younger ones, say under 30, or 25. if u tell them u have to go through NS then they will knnbccb rather fuck off or use SG as a stepping board and continue to do shit in SG whenever they can . we need to strike a balance to retain them or at least some

if u tax them once off, may not be sufficient and it eats at them

I feel, we should introduce something like NS tax or some sort of thing to make them contribute to national building esp for JHKs now the exchange rate is totally lopsided to their favour

I am totally for introduction of say anything from 3-5% from their pay or whatever, so as to give back to national reserves or the locals. even a 1-2% will add a lot to our coffers. and use it to help the poor and needy or whatever NS men

but govt dont want to or hesitant to. I just feel this can be implemented in such times and reduce or increased as the time goes by and looking at economy

we are getting lots of capital outflows and monies remitted abroad. what do we get in return? locals doing grab and those rubbish jobs

but i feel, locals should be given priority and more help and incentives for those been through NS

some things i agree with the govt, i would say im more realistic and look at each policy rather than just scream at the govt for everything

i dont think we should discriminate against these people even if they didnt serve, as long as they are able to contribute in other ways but we must find ways to make them contribute more and not game the system

u want to attract people esp talents, but not at the expense of displacing locals - this part i think govt is not doing good or enough

however u see those that keep having kids is of a certain....... dynamics and social strata (to be more politcally correct), while most of the more capable or those stuck in the middle ones cant get married or dont wish to have babies

hence the govt tops up from philippines, china or msia etc........ it's to keep the racial balance

hard truths that HWZ will lock ban or issue points

u dont have to be working for govt or super high IQ to know this, but sometimes people keep barking on certain issues.

i also feel the incentives for getting married and having kids are like shit. because the govt is now in a fuck-it stance. since u all most likely wont have kids even if i give u 10-20k blah blah

i might as well bring in people who feel Singapore is an upgrade to their existing lifestyles like pinoys, ats and esp jhk jhb and of course our fav from cecaland since our local indians arent rly having many kids also, esp those educated ones

and these people just game and game and game the system and milk it dry like f

lots of loopholes that govt doesnt want to close. and even give priorities to msians for housing, PRs etc

fuck PAP

fuck PAP
the gov would rather fuck sg citizens with more taxes then taxing their beloved foreigners whenever possible.

i place the blame squarely on pap.

if a system has loopholes, and i suspect deliberately by pap, it will defo encourage people to abuse it.

also, pap could have put a lot more resources into making the lives of singaporeans a lot better. look at the how scandianvian countries do it. all the benefits and welfare families with babies can get.

instead, pap chose to tighten the noose on us. making life here a rat race with the constant need to fight off 'foreign talents', unfair labour laws that advantage employers and unstable work climate.

all these made people not wanting to have babies. how to when the living environment is so stressed and stifling?

But Bukit chandu also said those days sg wasn't a country but ppl defended their homeland as a kampung together ...
My Tk is .. sure they nv endured sweat n tears and 2 yr time spent but if they brave ups n downs when one day sg is in border conflict then should be bearable .. but anywh we r not gg to be at war with anyone anywhere ...
Wondering how else they can show allegiance.. maybe bear higher tax by x % ?
