End of the day, only money is real. The US does not gain from funding Ukraine with weapons and money when the war is at a stalemate since the start of Russia's invasion. Without USA funding Ukraine, Ukraine would have GGed. I doubt Western Europe is willing to help Ukraine as well. They are just taking advantage of USA to do the dirty deed.

he was not POTUS when the war in effect mah. if he had been re-elected back then, i believe he would stop Putin also - at that time.
It's better now that he's in a better position to negotiate now as the new POTUS

I always give this examples to my friends or whatever when they refuse to take meds, or do drastic measures. Now you are sick, or got 1 part need to chop off. Will you cut that part off to prevent infection from spreading then later fix it somehow (or take meds that affect u temporarily)

Everyone is selfish, just that some are more / less selfish than others. Difficult to find someone who truly puts others before self. If i have only daughters i will most likely think the same way. Having no 2 years delay into the workforce is a huge deal. No NS means no does no cutting off momentum to pursue their aspirations, no reservist disruptions during work.
