I have a friend in need of a job. I just nice have contact. So contacted the manager and she needed staff.
My friend previous basic in govt was $5.5k exclude guaranteed bonuses and aws
My friend says she will lower her basic salary by $500 to $5k to try get this job. I told her private institution never give bonuses like govt. I told her try $6k and put (negotiable).
now they mention they might not consider her cos she too experienced (30yrs working exp) and out of their budget. She now says if she had out $5k maybe it would have been easier...
My fault...
Last time one fren applied for my job. I didnt advise her to lower, she didn't get it.
Now this fren I advise to increase her asking pay. She probably can't get it.
I think in some ways I fail
u can talk to the manager directly?
anyway why she wants to leave govt? or left already?

She put negotiable right. They always give stupid reasons to justify u will not know their true reasons. Maybe they prefer ceca or just want lowball fresh grad 1.8k

just like bosses. they will not say the real reason.
like my side they promoted this guy coz they want to keep his wife and the guy left before. he came back took 20% of my stuff and got promoted immediately after returning from leaving
but he's those type suck up and eager to please

Ya I can talk to the mgr directly. Anyway I just told the manager the $6 is I suggested one. She wanted $5k.
She left govt because people in govt discriminate her for her mild physical impairment. But I feel that doesn't impact her working ability. She is very hardworking and competent.

why spend time training when i can hire a cheaper foreigner with the skillsets or proclaims to have the skillset?
