Construction & other Coys hv been using lorry to ferry workers to work. Now even got to fix canopy & lately put plastic covers at the back. What your opinions on why this type of incident.can happen. In this incident, who u think at fault?

1st Drivers fault.
Ofc trace back ish Zheng hu fault open door big big to allow FWs driving the truck to ferry workers & then they sped like no tomolo.
Then finally it's Society fault (our fault) allow Zheng Hu open door big big & allow them come in cho luan

cos i am not surprised if they are in the same bed with the contractors. and i am sure a lot of the contractors prob are volunteers in the RC or something.

for gov to mandate that all workers must be transported by buses is such an easy thing. give the companies six months to change and adhere.

contractor bosses scared no money buy their next mercs. so cry to pap gov that this cannot be done.

We got to work towards Govt cannot do biz. Conflicts of interest. 官商勾结。
Now they serve ppl (like the injured worker) or the biz? Shift focus to coy.
Union too hv to separate, then can move forward towards protecting workers.
In tis case FWs zham brake. Taim for TP go arrest the driver. Why go sue the coy? If driver go at 50km/h, won't flung so far. If workers don't play HP but hold on to the railing won't hv problem. Now whether should give every worker a safety belt. Will it work?

I voted Singapore society fault cos we voted in the govt.

The employee no fault cos he no choice.

Lorry is inanimate.  Cannot blame

Driver cannot blame unless it was he brake for fun.  Cannot be he let the lorry crash instead if accident about to happen.

Company might have issues getting buses for workers cos we have issues with Coe.  A bus for company A would mean one less bus for let's say primary school.  Or one less delivery van.  Cos there is the Coe

Govt comes with COE to control vehicle population.  Balloting might work but what will happen to companies that ballot for right to get a lorry PLUS minibus but keep failing the ballot?

Actually is the speed. When speed of truck was legislate at max 50km/h. We nvr hear of such. Then they put to 70km/h. U start to see lorry on 2nd or even 1st lane. They don't go below 70km/hr or they r hogging on highway. No canopy last time, brake at 50km/hr holding onto the rail guard ish actually quite safe.

Moi read driver sudden brake. Then the worker flung & hit canopy. No one mentioned the speed. Juz want to blame on boss ferrying workers but tis had been done donkey years liao at slow speed 50km/hr, slowest left lane.

U can put many accessories (definitely increased cost & may or may not be necessary), but if driver drive recklessly, accident surely happen. Speed back to 50km/hr surely helps in controlling truck ferrying workers behind. Need balance between safety & profit. Coy will rather close if becoming hard to operate.

Quite many ceca drivers with S Passes if u notice road accidents happening nowadays. Many vans, lorry found on fastest lane one expressway when speed definitely higher than 70km/HR.

So, I guess company let workers go on their own to the worksite especially for smaller company that has small value job & not much resources.

Last time in 80s can go out in family lorry to go tombs weeping with the entire family with the barang barang, all sit at the back of lorry. Sibeh cooling n satki. No canopy one. Open air type.

Then gahmen outlawed it say safety reason.

Dunno y can allow for construction company thou. Same what if lorry buang, behind put canopy or seat or Smlj also no lan use. Sure mati.

So yah gahmen fault double standards.
