Yeah, just walk from changi village hawker towards the jetty then keep walking along the path along the coast, the path is not fully connected yet, so just cut through the chalet and walk a little bit along the main road (maybe 1min or so), then cut through the chalets again (or changi sailing club), then you will reconnect with the boardwalk.

Continue walking all the way and you will reach the end where there are people fishing and a restaurant/club house.

Can walk through the chalets and club house, so no problem.

Whole trip the most about half hour 45mins.

Wah nostalgic. The tiles are one from the old Marina Square before they renovated it.

You used to hang out there too? There were two nice outdoor pubs there. I don't know why Marina Square don't want to bring it back. I think it will defo create some buzz.

I have walked there before. Is it along the site of the sook ching memorial along the beach? If continue walking can see Tekong and planes flying above your head.

But this part has more people compared to the boardwalk.

A couple of spots quite nice to lim kopi: fun toast at t3 arrival, can look inside the terminal, jewel fun toast, the fountain is just in front.

T2 arrival also has a decent food area at the corner. Can be very quiet too.

And the viewing gallery at t1 during weekdays.

Oh yah then go Lab Park is not that good. Unless you walk into the forest part where there are cannons and statutes from WWII. Actually can also walk towards Reflections at Keppel. And if you take train, you can walk through a largely sheltered walkway with mangrove swamp (which is just behind the train station), don't walk on the road cos hot and no shelter. A lot of people do not know about this.

Then how do you go to Changi Village? You stay in the east?

my usual route of changi village hawker, to boardwalk, cut through chalet, and continue again. thinking about exploring a couple of spooky places (not going in, just outside only).

The punggol park I'm referring to is not in Punggol. Instead it's near Buangkok mrt / Blk 401 Hougang Ave 10, It's like a smaller bedok reservoir but better

it's not near that to punggol waterfront, punggol end, coney island, punggol red bridge etc

Punggol end the spooky area with the war memorial plaque is right smack in the middle of a bustling area right?

Punggol park is nice. Night time quite chillax. Not super crowded.

Btw although I haven't tried punggol park tenderbest. I have tried Riveria tenderbest. My friend loves the onion bloom. Not sure if punggol park tenderbest have that onion or nots

bro, one of the beauty of changi village is how it feels at night, at least to me. not many places in singapore has that vibes, i think cos of the tall trees, the colonial houses, and lack of HDBs, and people.

i am short, but quite fit and muscular. quite easy to spot i believe :)

and walk after lunch is too hot.

i plan to eat at Changi Village about 4plus before the peak hour dinner crowd. Then start walking about 5plus so that I can catch both daylight and evening.

the transition between day and night is nice.

actually it is easy to find places to sit at cv hawker centre, the trick is to bring your food to the other hawker centre (muslim food side) which is a lot quieter.

it's not near that to punggol waterfront, punggol end, coney island, punggol red bridge etc

Punggol end the spooky area with the war memorial plaque is right smack in the middle of a bustling area right?

oh wah ok, i am not familiar with Punggol. i try to arrange go there some day, esp Punggol end. I think i have only been there once long time ago.

Quote from: Keeptrucking on Jan 09, 2025, 07:04 PMbro, one of the beauty of changi village is how it feels at night, at least to me. not many places in singapore has that vibes, i think cos of the tall trees, the colonial houses, and lack of HDBs, and people.

i am short, but quite fit and muscular. quite easy to spot i believe :)

Night scenes always very emo. But have to admit it does look nice. Last yr I was at the chinese restaurant overlooking the walkway that extends into the sea, quite cool

Ah the other side, means have to walk pass the atm machine mid section?

Oh that restaurant has a nice view.

That's why i prefer to go in the evenings, can enjoy both day and night feels. In fact, if you up for cheap thrills, there are two graves at the end of the boardwalk. And I know stories of some of the buildings there.

Yeah, and nowhere in Singapore has the feels of Changi Village. I hope it remains this way. Another place kinda similar is Wessex estate but it is too dark and nothing to do. Seletar area also not bad but that area is even quieter.

Last time I would go to the Seletar Airport area there to look at planes and walk a little. Quite nice area too but way too quiet.

Yes, walk past the ATM side, that hawker centre also sell fruits. I usually will buy two boxes of cut fruits for only $4 and eat while walking.

I haven't been to tenderbest in punggol park, yes tenderbest still there. Sitting by the pond and eat fried chicken should be damn shiok. I only been to tenderbest at riveria lrt. Ho jiak but damn salty.

I didn't even know got wild oats after bliss.
Long time never go punggol park although my place is only 10-15 min walk from my home.

I am going there again.

I tried the 401 fried carrot cake before. On one encounter, they already pre-fry the carrot cake and just reheat and serve to us.

Haven't tried other foods in 401 but I heard it's operating beyond midnight u can go chillax with friends.

i think very near your first three pics, just along the boardwalk on the right side if you look into the forest. Can see two tombstones.

if you walk further down (direction towards changi village hawker) along the boardwalk, you will see a small pavilion. I heard that a woman hung herself there before.

imagine paying this clown 16k a month to do such shit that anyone can do. she is just a glorified and grossly overpaid estate manager.

More than 16k. Million dollary ministerial salaries. The boardwalk must be very low priority at NEA because it's a liability whereas charging for plastic bags can help bring in some revenue for the company. Oh wait.

Not sure. I saw it from a local paranormal show.

Tbh there are many unreported suicide cases in singapore, esp in quiet places. My ex colleague was a police nsf so he knows.

see the death rate of SG

Year   Value (People)
2,018   20976
2,019   21559
2,020   21833
2,021   21433

322 suicides reported in Singapore in 2023. they say lowest liao. that's like 1 per day.

I suspect these are not accurate. Knowing how pap likes to play with stats. Fall from height might not be considered as 'suicides'. My ex colleague said that he had to deal with them almost daily and that is only in his division.

yeah, my dad's area had like two superman cases, also not reported.

and i am not suprised how pap can classify superman cases as 'fall from height' and not suicides. they prob classify suicide as someone who was found with a suicide note, slit wrists, or popped pills.

all those jumped onto train tracks, into reservoirs, and superman cases... all can be easily classified as fall from heights, misadveture...

i don't know. will not be suprised cos high sucide rates (and we are already one of the highest) looks bad for pap.
