then why did u even buy it in the first place?

i envy u all and many others, esp those way older than us

their time HDB was dirt shit cheap. cars also. u married young so u also managed to enjoy a bit

HDB back in around 2008, 3 room at my area was like 140k.

nb, i can buy now immediately

HDB back in 1973 for my block is 9.5k i shared many times. first hand buyer from govt. my parents bought current flat in 1985 for 44k (mum told me)

now is nbcb almost 10x. 8x+ from 44k

last time maybe income for my father was under 1k, maybe 800? not sure. avg fresh grad maybe 1.2k or 1k? i dunno. but 44k or 9.5k sounds cheap like i dunno what shit to curse

nabeh now fresh grad income got 8x 1k?

this govt is shit to the core tbh. when it comes to housing they are absolute shit. deep within me there's an anger that cannot be extinguished looking at the shit housing market and living costs

i cannot deny they did many things well but not this shit recently

Used to have .. as we age lesser and lesser interest in a lot of stuff ... I thk what we need to cultivate is curiosity

Like u see small kids they hv interest in everyth cos everyth is brand new or unfamiliar or unexposed to them ...
We need this kind of curiousity n interest ...

Sometimes just going out there n try to think like a curious person then we can grow new knowledge n that itself might spark us to thk or process stuff differently..

i didn't buy my car, my parents did 16 years ago.

i've kept it till today. will prob keep it forever.

older gen got enjoy many many la.

but even when i got married in my early 20s, that period had record high HDB prices, lack of BTOs.

15 years later, PAP still the same.

I think that s a good question how to find out yr passion

No one wakes up from nothing and say ok this is my new passion ... but ppl usu hv tiny ideas then they do sthg then fail a couple of times or endless times

then some of these failed n finally endurers arrive a super idea and then they make it their passion

I just chanced upon this story while I was brooding over the question "where do I find passion" nah here s one marvellous example how one thought turned into a project into a massive passion

Hv a blessed day everyday everyone 🤗

Not everyday is a good day but there is some good in every moment in everyday
Quote ////Ole Kassow of Copenhagen loved bicycling. One morning, when he saw an elderly man sitting alone with his walker in a park, Ole felt inspired by a simple idea: why not offer elderly people the joy and freedom of a bike ride. So, one sunny day he stopped at a nursing home with a rented trishaw (a three-wheeled bike) and offered a ride to anyone there. He was delighted when a staff member and an elderly resident became the first riders of Cycling Without Age.

Now, more than twenty years later, Ole's dream to help those who miss cycling has blessed some 575,000 elderly people with 2.5 million rides. Where? To see a friend, enjoy an ice cream cone, and "feel the wind in their hair." Participants say they sleep better, eat better, and feel less lonely.

Such a gift brings to life God's beautiful words to His people in Isaiah 58:10–11. "Help those in trouble," He told them. "Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon." God promised, "The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring" (nlt).

Same for me for one of my "contract " work where and when I didn't understand how is every job an employment contract but not every job is an employment for a contract / time framed employment ... neither me nor my boss thought it was any diff .. only diff was bonus

That's one thing

I was talking to a friend about changing car and he told me the shiokness of owning a new car would wear off very fast.  Maybe within a few days

I said yar if it's auto to auto or manual to auto.  But if it's auto to manual, the shiokness will be for many many months or years
