Title: If you see a sack of cement on the road, should you move it to the side?
Post by: Philipkee on Sep 25, 2024, 02:25 PM
Let's say you see a sack of cement (unopened sack) on the road or at the loading bay unattended, should you move it to the pavement?

I saw it once at my block's loading bay and I wanted to just carry it with a friend and put it on the pavement just beside it.

My friend told me don't ever do that.  Cos if when lifting up the sack and it tears, cement will be all on the road and it will be worse and hazardous if it rains AND it will be our fault cos we "last touch".  Correct step is to call the company's name on the sack or any company that happen to be renovating in the area OR HDB if no choice but never touch the sack.

Do you agree?

I call 999 ask them come down cos got potential concrete evidence for them make a case for illegal dumping.

But is it was a sack of money then different story liao. I will take and bring home for safekeeping wait for the owner to come and claim. I will post a notice at my area say if lose money come find me tell me how much and show proof.

But if the sack breaks?

OTOH once I was carrying a sack of laundry detergent powder when I slipped on the road.  Fortunately the sack didn't break but I wonder wonder what if it had broken and all the detergent powder fell onto the wet road (it was raining that's why I slipped) and into the drain
