dunno but got a few theories imo
retribution/karma is a good way for people who are incapable of exacting revenge to console themselves
or maybe the people whom we think are bad/evil to us are actually not that terrible
or maybe the good and evil theory is just something we believe exists

You never know. Maybe the evil villains bulldozing are enjoying good karma while those suffering are suffering bad karma.
I saw a video once that questioned why people questioned karma.
On one hand, you say this civilisation or nation is evil. Where is the karma?
On the other hand, when the nation comes under attack, you scream at the attacker why attack them?
So you want karma or you don't want karma?
If X scams you of money, you scream where is the karma of X? Then Y comes along and scams X of money and your first action is to arrest Y to get the money scammed from X to return to X
I fweel rike a lot of ppl talking about karma and they want it to happen immediately.

Sic y'all my experience at my current workplace.
There were 4 women who were nasty to me. They all were very yaya then. 3 of them really backstabbed me at my back by going to boss behind my back 打小报告。
Over the years what happened to them was.
#1. First to tio retrenched. This one was a foreigner who liked to talk bad about sinkies. Boss got tired of her antics.
#2. Dun know what happened one days suddenly she auto resigned on her own.
#3. I felt this was the best example of karma. This woman was my ex-boss. She openly said to me you're welcomed to go if you find better opportunity outside and she was very biased. One day it was announced a new head of dept would be taking over and became her new boss. This new hod didn't like her way of doing things sia and got rid of her by transferring her to another dept (use jod rotation as an excuse). Somebuttie witnessed this ex-boss talked until almost cried when she had to announce her jod trsf.
Can you imagine how I felt when I heard all these?? I really felt like 老天有眼. yes! 👏👏
#4. This one was the favoured one by woman #3. The new hod also did not like her and transferred her out to some other related company during our massive M&A.
Then I tell you, this new hod (who got nothing to do wif me) also had karma coming her way. During the massive M&A she was offered package sia, cos the new organisation got no jod for her.
So I tell you. You do stuff to ppl you better be careful it doesn't come back and bite you in the ass sia. :look:

But these ppl got huge compensation package golden handshake there's no karma. Invented by the weaks
Depends. I seen in some cases and I didn't see it in some ppl who deserves it.
I guess it's more like cause and consequences. Some people haven't got it yet, or they may not get it at all.
Then have y'all noticed? Those who din get the karma one it happened to those ard him/her?
