to me, all these high price boils down to greed. greed from the pap to rent out/sell the coffeeshops at high price and charge high rentals at markets. even those pasar malam, chinatown CNY market and geylang serai market, all these are subjected to bidding.
this then translates to high costs for the hawkers, and they still need to pay for utilities and cleaning fees, if i am not wrong.
so they jack up prices and of course the greedy ones will jack up even more than is necessary.
so the buck really stops with the f ucking pap.
they need to clean up their bloated civil service and cut down on all the unnecessary wastage and jiak liao bi.
i think we have one of the highest numbers of civil servants in the world, given our small population.
